in SMS txt lingo : its gr8!

i have been reading a lot of poetry in text lingo, as well as reading an dissecting the readability of the Textament (bible written in text message lingo). the more i read the more i realize that this "new language" is not just that but also an art form. Who can make up the most ridiculous emoticon? Or who can form the most outlandish text phrase that's almost borderline incomprehensible (e.g., u l%k 1drful 2nyt)?

i have found myself delving more into the idea of texters as a subculture. who texts? why they text? what influences the type of emoticons and txt abbreviated phrases?

  1. i love how creative you are in both your presentation and your blog. A+ for you. Never thought about texting as a subculture before--I mean, eventually, all generations will text, right? Only the older generations really don't. I think the texting subculture is really going to become the mainstream culture. It's just a matter of time. For now, though, its a great focus.
